Lo admito: San Miguel de Allende es increíble. (I admit it, San Miguel is incredible)

San Miguel Allende is designated Pueblo Mágico, and a UNESCO heritage site close to Guanajuato. It’s also a very wealthy city with a giant ex-pat community, which I don’t love, but it was well worth the visit.

Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel- the pink neo-gothic church built in the 1600’s

El Nigromante (Ignacio Ramirez the Necromancer Cultural Center)
El Fanatismo del Pueblo- the bat represents ignorance, religious fanaticism, and dark forces preying on the people
The famous unfinished mural of Siqueiros- a dynamic mural with optical illusions that make it look like it’s moving as you walk through
The optical illusion of the heart

San Miguel Allende is full of well-preserved 400 year-old doors. I am working on a coffee table book called: Can You Hear Me Knocking? Opening the Door to Dans. You can pre-order your copy here in time for the holidays!

Door model: Dan Kalafus
The ultimate door!
